Description:   This release of AMD ATI Catalyst™ delivers support for the latest AMD ATI CrossFireX™ profiles. A separate executable file ensures users have access to the latest set of profiles installed on their PC.

New profiles added to this release:

  • FireFall:  Resolve corruption when enabling Anti-Aliasing through the Catalyst Control Center on single GPU configurations
  • Test Drive Unlimited 2:  Improves CrossFire performance
  • Ridge Racer Unbounded – Fixes full screen corruption for single GPU configurations
  • Stacking – Resolved image quality issues when enabling  Anti-Aliasing through the Catalyst Control Center on single GPU configurations
  • Dirt 3:  Fixes corruption found in particular scenes when CrossFire is enabled

Description:

This release of AMD ATI Catalyst™ delivers support for the latest AMD ATI CrossFireX™ profiles. A separate executable file ensures users have access to the latest set of profiles installed on their PC.
New profiles added to this release:
–  Mass Effect 3:  Improves CrossFire performance
–  Path of Exile – Improves CrossFire performance
–  Darkness 2 – Resolves flickering issues on single GPU configurations when Anti-Aliasing is forced on in the Catalyst Control Center
–  Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning – Resolves character texture corruption seen using single GPU configurations when Anti-Aliasing is forced on in the Catalyst Control Center
–  Wargame: European Escalation (DirectX 9 version):  Improves CrossFire performance
–  Wargame: European Escalation (DirectX 11 version):  Resolves flickering observed when running in CrossFire mode
–  Mount Blade:  Disables CrossFire to avoid corruption as the title has a capped Frame Rate
–  L.A. Noire (DirectX 11 Version):  Improves CrossFire performance, and resolves flickering seen in shadows

Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and SBS 2008 with Service Pack 2 – You may find that applications stop responding, delays occur during resume from standby and/or files may become corrupt when the computer goes to sleep/hibernate and/or poor AMD processor/chipset performance

A variety of issue exist post service pack 2 with Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and Small Business Server 2008, a variety of hotfixes have been released since 2008 to address these issues but you only need to apply the latest to ensure that all subsequent issues are addressed.

 

You should only need to apply the hotfix from KB 980080 to ensure that all the issues below are addressed as this contains the latest versions of the affected files, this can be obtained from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980080

 

KB 980080 – Files may be corrupted when a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 enters the sleep mode or the hibernate mode
