Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 client/server readiness cumulative update has been released

This update provides performance and reliability improvements that will improve the Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8

The update includes the following performance and reliability improvements:

  • Addresses PowerShell issue with certain localized languages when a Language Interface Pack is installed
  • Improves SMB service and client reliability under certain stress conditions
  • Improves clustered server performance and reliability in Hyper-V and Scale-Out File Server scenarios

Apple release iTunes 10.6.3 (32 Bit and 64 Bit Editions)

Apple iTunes 10.6.3 (32 Bit and 64 Bit) has recently been released and includes the following new features and fixes:

  • Addresses a problem where iTunes may become unresponsive when syncing an iPad (1st generation) that contains an iBooks textbook
  • Fixes a problem where photos synced to a device may appear in an unexpected order
  • Resolves an issue where iTunes may unexpectedly delete playlists created on a device
  • Fixes issues where iTunes may unexpectedly delete apps on a device
  • Improves overall performance and reliability

Windows Vista, Server 2008 and SBS 2008 Service Pack 2 – You may find that Memory Manager can no longer commit Memory Pages resulting in applications and services experiencing performance and reliability issues

If you are running Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 or Windows Small Business Server 2008 with Service Pack 2 you may find that Memory Manager can no longer commit Memory Pages resulting in applications and services experiencing performance and reliability issues.

This issue occurs because the Memory Manager incorrectly attempts to return more memory pages than have actually been allocated.

The issue can be resolved by applying the hotfix KB 2619529 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2619529
